Technology at Home and in the Classroom
Home computers are being used for educational purposes and families can use the Internet as a way to connect science to their real world experience. Sutherland, Facer, and Furlong (2000) discuss the role of home computers in the context of education. Their findings include the benefits of using technology in meaningful ways beyond the classroom. Therefore, students and their families can use home computers and the Internet to make meaningful connections through science topics and experiments.
