The Internet and Research in Science Education
Research is an important aspect of learning about science. Following is a statement by Roblyer and Doering (2013) that explains how the Internet can provide increased opportunities for students to research important topics, people, and places related to science.
The Internet has become an indispensable tool for investigating important scientific questions. Science teachers and students have access to a number of exciting resources for teaching and learning science. For many of the science areas, teachers and students can access information from sources, such as NASA, or museums, such as the Exploratorium. (p. 321)
Students can gain a historical perspective by studying scientists who have made important contributions to various fields. This page highlights a few key scientists that students may choose to research.
